Sparks has garnered the respect of the
guitar community and his fans with his
intricate, listenable and sensitive guitar
style. The 1993 Winfield winner at the
National Fingerstyle Guitar Championships,
Tim has released 6 CDs; 3 on Peter
Finger's Acoustic Music Records and 3 on
John Zorn's Tazdik label. He has won
critical acclaim for Neshamah and
Tanz and the recently released
At the Rebbe's Table is quickly
garnering even more praise. Guitar
Bazaar was picked by the editors of
Guitar Player Magazine as one of their
favorite guitar releases of 1996. Fellow
guitarist Leo Kottke stated, "I'm Tim
Sparks' biggest fan. His stuff is very
difficult to play but it doesn't sound
difficult. I think that's real
musicianship. He's really one of the best
